Dear St. James Families ,
What a week it has been! Even as sickness continues to move through our school, our students and staff have shown resilience, joy, and a strong sense of community. We continue to hold in prayer all who are recovering and look forward to healthier days ahead.
One of the highlights of the week was our field trip to the Bishop LeBlond Musical. Our St. James thespians deserve special recognition. There where many from various grades that put in tremendous work and dedication to help bring the performance to life. A few even pushed through being under the weather, showing incredible commitment and heart. We are so proud of their effort and the way they represented our school.

This ties beautifully into our mission at St. James: to nurture the desire for truth, goodness, and beauty that lies in the heart of each child. The arts are a powerful way to help students encounter that beauty, and over the past two weeks we have truly seen this lived out. Students have come alive in the classroom when acting, drama, and creativity were integrated into lessons. For example, when students in history class built the Ark of the Covenant, reenacted the walls of Jericho, and dramatized the march around the city. These moments are joyful reminders that learning is not just academic, it forms the whole person.
We are also in the midst of our canned food drive, and many classrooms already have impressive collections growing. Thank you for your generosity and support as we work together to serve families in need.
With a short week ahead, I hope every family is able to enjoy a little extra rest, recovery, and time together. These small breaks can be a gift and a chance to reset before we enter the busy season ahead.
As always, thank you for your partnership, prayers, and support. I am truly grateful for the St. James community and the privilege of serving alongside you.
In Christ,
Mr. McDonnell
